Norman R. Farnsworth PhD, Renowned Medicinal Plant Researcher
Renowned pharmacognosist and internationally-respected medicinal plant research expert, Norman R. Farnsworth, PhD, died on September 10 at a Chicago hospital. He was 81 and had been in declining health for months, suffering from long-term congestive heart failure and type 2 diabetes.

The ICSB organizing committee will be putting together a commemorative session honoring Norman Farnsworth and his contributions to the field of natural products and botanicals. It is the intent of this session to capture how Norman's research, life's work and collegial interactions have impacted all of us.

 John Philip HesterSeptember 5, 1973 - December 11, 2010 Many of you knew John Hester through the NCNPR and from the previous ICSB conferences. He passed quietly at home on Saturday, December 11th, surrounded by his loved ones. His presence at the ICSB will be missed. Please keep John and his family in your thoughts and prayers. For anyone who wishes to contribute, John and his wife Leanne established a scholarship fund for their two children.
